NEMOS

The project “Novel Earth and Maritime Observation Satellite” (NEMOS) will study and design a small satellite mission to be implemented in the frame of a constellation, able to provide near real-time surveillance for multiple Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) defense operation scenarios requiring continuous tracking of thousands of km of coastline, monitoring of critical maritime infrastructures, and scanning of the sea surface.

The mission will combine small optical satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) capable of providing simultaneous visible and Short-Wave Infrared (SWIR) images offering unprecedented spatial resolution. Those images will be combined with complementary geographic data.

Neptuno

This project aims to respond to current and future maritime safety challenges through the experimental development of a design and prototype of a constellation of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) nanosatellites (CubeSats) and an advanced information system capable of analyzing the millions of data acquired by ground stations using artificial intelligence technologies.

Neptuno intelligent system will be able to detect potential criminal behaviour patterns and to assign a hazardous profile to each vessel. It will also include an automatic alert system that will notify in real time the potentially criminal actions that are taking place. Thus, it will be possible to conclude with a high probability the dangerousness of a vessel in order to proceed to arrest if necessary and its inspection before the threat reaches port.
