ELECTRICAL POWER SYSTEMS

Electrical Power Systems (EPS) designed to be integrated into different CubeSat platforms and Power Conditioning Distribution Unit (PCDU) for Smallsat platforms. Deployment control, maximum power point tracking and other features available.

The Power Conditioning and Distribution System PCDU has been designed to be integrated into different SmallSats systems.
This PCDU is developed to provide an efficient power supply and control for any type of mission and it is composed by a power management module and a battery module.

The Power Module of the PCDU is the interface that manages the power of the solar panel inputs, the battery charge and the HDRM control for solar array deployment.
This module is scalable starting at 900W.

The Battery Module of the PCDU is responsible for energy storage, battery thermal control and contains the circuit protection against overloads, over discharges, over currents and short circuits with a 415Wh ~ 1660Wh capacity.

The Electrical Power System PicoEPS has been designed to be integrated into different CubeSats systems from 1U to 2U.

It is the interface that manages the power of the solar panel inputs and the battery charge. This module is also responsible of the generation of 3.3V, 5V, 12V and VBAT power buses including the switched power lines.

This module is available in two different configurations: battery integrated and extended battery.

The PicoEPS unifies a Power Module and a Battery Module in one single board, in order to meet the restrictions related to the size and weight in 1U and 2U CubeSats configurations.

When working with configurations where more power storage is requested, the PicoEPS battery capacity could be extended with  an additional Battery Module, increasing its capacity up to 2800mAh.

HIGHLIGHT FEATURES

  • Scalable for CubeSats from 1U to 2U
  • Battery integrated configuration with 1400mAh capacity
  • Extended additional battery module available
  • Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT)
  • Space qualified
  • PC104 form factor
  • ISS compliant version available
  • PC104 form factor
