DHV Technology and D-Orbit Celebrate a Long-Standing Collaboration in the ION Satellite Carrier Program
May 19th, 2025 – Málaga, Spain
Since 2018, DHV Technology and D-Orbit have worked closely to co-engineer and manufacture the solar arrays that power the ION Satellite Carrier platform. This collaboration has contributed to the success of D-Orbit’s missions, starting with the launch of ION-SCV 001 in September 2020, which deployed 12 CubeSats into targeted orbits. As of today, D-Orbit has completed 17 ION missions, including the latest—Wish Upon a Star—launched on March 11, 2025, aboard SpaceX’s Transporter-13 mission.
DHV Technology has delivered the solar panels for every ION mission to date, providing fully integrated, turn-key solar array solutions adapted to each mission’s specific needs. From design and manufacturing to assembly and testing, DHV’s end-to-end approach ensures high reliability in orbit, helping support the operational performance and scalability of the ION program.
The collaboration between DHV Technology and D-Orbit brings together deep expertise in power subsystems and orbital logistics, to support the power needs of next-generation missions for commercial and institutional customers.
